Stay in the Faith

We all know and understand the importance of God’s work and His message. We are commanded (Mark 16:15) to go out to the world and share. With that prevalent love of God also comes those who seek rewards for themselves under the guise of spreading His word. The book of Jude reminds us to stay steady in our faith, because there are those who are corrupting the message. They use the beauty of God’s grace to underhandedly deceive His people and make a name for themselves. 2 Peter 2:1

False prophets are out in the world. The only way to not be swayed, distracted, or fooled is to study. The word of God is the sword of the Spirit, Ephesians 6:17. That sword is to be used in the ‘struggle, not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual force of wickedness in the heavenly places, (Ephesians 6:12).’

The world today is changing fast, but the Word is the same. Ephesians 4:5,6 “there is one Lord, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.” Hebrews 13:8, Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and always. And because we know this, we need to be diligent in our faith and continue to study to combat those who speak against God. Some people are not as obvious in their deceit and sometimes are seeking attention or accolades from men for their own pride, rather than the favor of God. There are people who cause divisions. “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” We need our diligence is necessary to minister to others in the world. Do not desert Him, for another message from man. He or she who speaks against the bible will be judged at the end for their crimes.

Galatians 1:6-10 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel, which is really not another, only there are some who are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you have received, let him be accused. For am I now seeking the favor of men or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please me, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.

Like Jude, we Christians appeal that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. That faith comes from hearing, from studying, from prayer. Build each other up. Keep yourselves in the love of God.
